Home Again

Got home late last night. It was a pleasant trip coming home. We took a bunch of back roads through the northern part of South Carolina. We went through a bunch small towns. We saw lot of old houses, including many old plantation houses. This is an area where cotton is king. Most of the towns seemed to be a bit depressed, but that's not unusual in small towns in rural areas.

We hit a few traffic backups, but nothing too serious. We stopped in Ocala to visit a friend and we all went out for dinner.

Now it's time to return to "normal" life. I'm heading over to Busch Gardens to see Gary Puckett perform. I'll probably come home early since I need to do laundry and tidy up the house. It's amazing how messy it got while I was gone. I'm going to have a serious talk with the cat and bird about cleaning up after themselves.

Somehow I managed to gain seven pounds on this trip. It couldn't have been from lack of exercise, or all those huge meals we ate, or those wonderful cookies and candies we got from The Fresh Market…

Life is good.

How I envy you! I am happy for you but at the same time envy you! I so love road trips and the ones where you can take your time! I’m thinking it’s time for me to go someplace. I can’t go far at this point in my life but just go! I did find a Tacoma, FL and want to go to see what is there. It is near Micanopy.
I am glad that you had a great trip and made it back safe!
