My niece and her family are in town for a visit. They’re staying over at my dad’s place. Wednesday I had a day off so we all went to Seaworld. My niece hasn’t been there in many years and was very impressed with the park.
I finally got to see the new Shamu show Believe. The show starts with the story of a young man who has dreams. By believing he makes his dreams come true. It was wonderful. The music and images on the huge monitors were awe inspiring. The whales come out and do their behaviors. It’s amazing to watch how the handlers and whales work together. After the smaller whales perform Shamu, the big guy, comes out to perform. Incredible.
I like how there’s very little talk and mostly show. Previous incarnations had a lot of talking about what they were doing which puts the focus on the handlers. Less talk puts the focus on the whales, and that’s what I go to the show to see.
When I go to a theme park I usually try to follow a pattern. Seaworld is laid out in a huge circle. So the pattern would be to go around the circle seeing things roughly in the order they are laid out. My niece had other ideas. She’d look at the show schedule, decide she wants to see something, and off we’d go. Sometimes that meant walking from one side all the way over to the other side. You do tend to get tired of seeing the same areas of the park over and over.
It was a great day. Life is good.

Sounds like it was a fun day. Hot but fun. I haven’t been to Sea World in quite a while. Did yougo see fussions? Dax and Eileen are in that show sometimes along with Javier.

I was really hoping to see them, but didn’t. Maybe next time.
