Peaceful Is Good

First an update on what I ended up doing on Sunday…

I visited my dad. I went to the grocery store and got some good things to eat. On the way home I stopped at Taco Bell and got combo 1, one of my favorite things to eat. I headed for home and ate. Then I tried to watch a bit of TV but dozed off and ended up taking a nap, instead. My dad wanted me to go shopping with him for a new office chair. We couldn’t find anything he liked so we went out for dinner. After than I came home.

I didn’t really do much of anything. That is a good thing sometimes. It seems like I’ve been on the go a bit too much lately. I’m working five or six days a week and on most days off I’ve been going to Busch Gardens to spend time with Ricky and see some of my friends that work there, the ones I don’t get a chance to see very often anymore now that I’m working.

Today I worked from 7:00 am until 1:00 pm. I grabbed a quick lunch with a friend and then just hung around BG for the rest of the afternoon. I saw a couple shows and visited with a few friends. I had a nice, relaxing time. My dad called and we went of for dinner. I came home and started watching a movie. The movie was kind of boring and I ended up rewiring and reorganizing my entertainment system, instead. It was getting pretty messy looking. Now all the wires are nice and neat again. It was one of things that needed to be done but I just kept putting it off.

I’ve started editing the contents of my living room and the place is starting to look pretty nice again. I had too much furniture and it looked so crowded. Now it looks almost spacious. Much more Zen-like, more peaceful. Peaceful is good. When my big TV gets fixed I can finally remove the smaller TV from the living room. Two TVs is at least one too many.

Next I’ll start working on some other projects around here. I want to take the “cottage cheese” texture off the ceiling and install crown moldings. Little by little I’m getting this place in shape. There’s nothing really wrong with it now but it has the potential of being special.

I’m off on Wednesday. I’m planning on going to Home Depot or Lowe’s and getting new slats for the vertical blinds on my dining room sliding door. The ones I’ve got now are made of a rough fabric. They’re translucent which lets a lot of light through and the rough edges are always getting stuck together. I want some vinyl slats that will cut out most of the light when I’m watching TV during the day. And then I won’t be doing battle with slats that stick together and look like crap.

It’s back to work on Thursday and another day off on Friday. I know, it’s a rather strange schedule, but that’s typical of the way my work week goes. I never know what hours or what days I’ll be working. I can’t really develop a routine because of the “variety”.

Well, it’s getting late. I think I’ll feed the cat and head off for bed.

Hi,

I was wondering if you know anything about some of the new shows that will be starting at Busch Gardens for Summer Nights. I believe the website lists them as Dragon Pond, Drastic Plastic, and Tropical Nights. I look forward to Summer Nights every year and this year is no exception. I don’t know if they have released any info yet, and I do understand you can’t say much if it’s not public knowledge yet.

Thanks for your help. It must be a very interesting job! I work in retail, so my hours fluctuate quite a bit as well!
