Work, Work, Work

So now that I’ve got a job certain parts of my life have to be rearranged. I’m used to being able to go to concerts, shop, etc., anytime I take a notion to. I had to miss a really good sounding concert at the Bluegrass Parlor last night. I had planned on going to the renfest in south Florida this weekend but work calls and I won’t be able to go. I hope all my friends that are going have a nice time…
My schedule for next week gives me Tuesday off so I’ll be able to go to the Terrific Tuesdays program at Busch Gardens. TT participants are scheduled to get a behind the scenes tour of the elephant house. We’ll be meeting at the base of the tower at the entrance to Timbuktu at 10:30.

As a friend, I hope you’re happy and I know this job isn’t about the money.

You’ve tasted freedom. Now you taste work, and the inability to detail it on the web.

Probation works both ways.

Know what you mean. I have off from my 2nd job tonight but I am so tired that I am falling asleep now. I wanted to go see a movie but I KNOW I would fdall asleep there. So I will go home and watch the last 3 or 4 shows of will & Grace that a friend taped for me (if I make it through all of them) Oh the good life!

Barefoot Pete

As you know, Mike, prior to my retirement I was basically self-employed. I was running our family business and I had a lot of freedom to come and go as I wished. I rarely worked more than 25 hours a week. Now I find myself working 35 hours a week for someone else on their schedule. It’s a bit of an adjustment. So far things are working out fine and I’ve been enjoying myself. I have the advantage of knowing a lot of people in the workplace so everywhere I go I see friendly faces. I’d like to be able to go into a lot more detail about the job, but I do have to be extremely careful what I put out for public consumption.

And Alice, my usual routine is now coming home and falling asleep watching TV. I’d really like to go out to a movie but it’s cheaper to sleep at home than in a movie theater. I’m hoping that after I get used to the routine I’ll be able to have a night life again.

Life is good…

Yes Pete, how well I know. It’s what caused me to say in my first reply: “. . . and the inability to detail it on the web.”

AHA! Finally a TT that coincides with MY work schedule(I work average 6 days/60 hours per week, so I “Bought” Tues2/14(annual leave, you can save it and spend it like a bank account) for a break, my favorite TTs have been the farewell to the ice show and introducing Katonga, being an old TV techhie from the 70s and the only one in the crowd under 100, the Busch people were more than glad to answer my queries….Will shoot for the elephant house tour, remember watching its construction progress from the skyride
