Never Put Off…

Since I retired I’ve seldom felt rushed to do anything. What the heck? I can always do it tomorrow, or the next day, or next whatever.

So now that I’m starting a new job later this week I’ve got to get a bunch of stuff done that I’ve been putting off. I’ve got a notepad with a page full of things that I’m going to try to get done today while I still have time to get them done. Once I start working I don’t know what kind of schedule I’ll be on so it’s best to get some of these things done NOW!

The most important things I need to get done this week are “proper” shoes for work (my Chucks are not approved shoes) and I need to get my eyes tested for new glasses. That one I’ve been putting off since August.

By the way, my ankle is feeling much better today, but that’s another story. One that a few of you know…

Ah yes, the Chucks. I thought of that. The eyes, I didn’t think about.

Oh, but I did think about the ankls, and all the free-time you will sacrafice.

Put BGT on probation and see if it suits you.

Yeah, Mike, BGT is on probation. Working is a choice. It’s something I want to do, not something I have to do. The more I find out about working at the Hospitality House the more interesting it sounds. I think I’ll probably really enjoy it, but you never know.

I got a great new pair of Chucks on sale today. The store had a buy a pair get a pair half price sale. My shoes for work ended up costing only $15 so there’s not a big investment there. That’s a lot better than the $33 they want in wardrobe.

I got everything done today that I wanted to except the eye exam. The optometrist was out of the office today so I’ll go back Wednesday.

So many things are falling into place at just the right time that it seems like this may be meant to be…

BG is an option for me when i become eligible for retirement, since I lack SS credits for even a minimal check but civil service retirement(phased out by the p.o. in late 80s, but Im gradfathered in) is nothing to sneeze at so i wouldn’t HAVE to work to eat either.Im assuming the work shoes are the same presumably Chinese-made jobbies the MR and Katonga players wear(spray em purple for MR, green for Katonga)..hey, afterthought, how about instituting graduate-level beer school?

Barefoot Pete

The shoes they wear at MR and Katonga are actually dance shoes, they’re not designed for walking. If you look at the soles you’ll see one way they differ from regular shoes. They need to be super-flexible for dancing.

Still wonder how they get by OSHA having the girls dance in those Capezio heels($125 a copy)
